While working at Bombay (now known as Mumbai) as an evangelist, Bro. George Koshy, received a Vision in 1984 to evangelize the entire city of Mumbai by Dec.1999. However, he came away to USA for his theological studies in 1989 with his family and the vision was forgotten for a while. However, God would not let him forget his vision permanently. In 1995, one of his spiritual sons, O.P. Augustin, called him up for help in keeping alive his decision to work for the Lord and this challenged Bro. George to pursue the vision that God had given him in 1984. In June 1996 he went down to Kerala and conducted a crusade with the help of the three brothers Augustin, Sebastian and Easappen, all of whom were led to the Lord by the preaching of the Gospel by Bro.George Koshy.
In June 1997 they registered a Gospel Ministry under the name, “Indian Christian Mission" with Puthencavu (Kerala) as the Head Quarters. The Lord has blessed the ministry and there are currently twenty ICM churches in the four southern States of India.
Five strong churches have come up in Andrah Pradesh and all of them acquired their own facilities for ministry. Outreach ministries are taken up by these churches in and around Hyderabad, Visakapatnam, Vijeyanagaram and Kowthalam.
Seven churches that operate in Karnataka are growing stronger and bigger in spite of great opposition from Hindu fanatics.
The three churches that ICM has in Maharastra are operating around Mumbai. Outreach ministries have been launched in the suburbs of Maharastra by ICM pastors.
In Kerala, ICM has churches in Payyannur, Pallithode, Karumanchery and Puthencavu, Chengannur.
We had a work in Nepal for three years. However, we closed that chapter in 2002 because of the difficulty in follow up actions. Nepal is a Hindu nation and Gospel needs to be preached there with urgency.
